And that's not because Sony isn't still looking to provide routine updates to the storefront on PS4, it's because the version of the marketplace that is seen on PS5 is intrinsically different in a number of ways. While this new update to the PlayStation Store on PS5 is a nice step forward, there are surely still a number of different upgrades that Sony could continue to add over time. And even though no such future updates have been announced just yet, this small change seems to suggest that we could be seeing more alterations come about quite soon.

According to the tweet, players will finally be able to add games to their PS Store Wishlist on PS5, and can enable push notifications to be alerted when any games from their Wishlist go on sale.

These features are also coming to the PS App, including the ability to receive notifications about discounts. The Wishlist was removed from the PS Store in to unify its appearance across its multiple platforms, a decision many players were unhappy about. One of the most pressing desired features still has to do with the PS Store, that being a better system for upgrading PS4 games to their PS5 counterparts.

The current design is rather messy, some upgrades requiring additional purchases, while others do not, and the UI doesn't make it particularly clear whether users have an upgrade available to them.

Fans desire a more nuanced upgrade system like Xbox's Smart Delivery, where it games simply optimize themselves for the console being played on, without any extra purchases necessary. This new PlayStation update is certainly a welcome one for PS5 owners, and especially for those who primarily get their games digitally. The update suggests that PlayStation potentially learned its lesson from last year, that presentation should not come at the cost of function.

While many of PlayStation's deals for November are already live , it will be pretty handy come December just getting a PS5 notification about the month's latest promotions.
