How many years pandavas were in exile
Make some arrangements that how you are going to spend time with her. Furthermore, he told them about two Asura brothers named Shunda and Upashunda. They acquire a boon from Lord Brahma that nobody will be able to slay them unless they kill themselves.
Devas gods sent an Apsara named Tilottama to motivate both brothers to fight with each other to acquire her. And eventually, in the process destroy each other. This is what happened when they saw her beauty. Both of them for the sake of Tilottama killed each.
After consulting with each other, Pandavas establish a rule among themselves. And the rule they made was that. When one of them would be sitting with Draupadi, any of the other four who would see that one thus must retire into the forest for twelve years, passing his days as a Brahmacharin celibate. It means that they would spend time with Draupadi one by one for 1 year each. In that one year period, if anyone of them would see while any brother was with Draupadi in their chamber, then he would have to enter into exile for 12 years as a celibate.
This way there would be no dispute between Pandavas because of Draupadi. One day what happened that some robbers take away the cattle of a Brahmana by force and deception. Brahmana pleaded to Pandavas to help him and started crying in grief. Arjuna heard his appeal and assured the Brahmana. But there was an obstacle that prevents him from helping him.
The chamber where Pandavas kept their weapons is occupied by Yudhishthira and Draupadi. As per their rule, he cannot enter the chamber. But without his weapons, he is not able to help that poor Brahmana.
Arjuna thought that at this moment, this Brahmana needs him and helping him should be his topmost priority. On hearing this, Yudhisthira sent Arjuna to rescue Duryodhan. Duryodhana felt very humiliated because his most hated enemies , the Pandavas , saved his life.
However, he owed his life to Pandavas and promised them to do whatever Pandavas asked. In the war of Mahabaharata, Arjuna used this opportunity and asked for five arrows of Bhishma which were intended to kill Pandavas.
Once a strange incident occurred with pandavas. This morning a stag came and rubbed its horns against the tree. I want you to get my sticks back. The Pandavas agreed and went in search of stag. They found it but before they could shoot, it ran away. By now pandavas were very tired and thirsty.
Nakula climbed up the tree to see if there was water around. He saw a pool of water. Yudhisthira asked him to bring water for all of them. Before taking water you will have to answer my questions. After some time, Yudhisthir sent Sahdev to look for him Sahdev came to the pool and found Nakul unconscious. He decided to sprinkle some water on his face to awaken him.
But as he tried to take water, he heard the same warning. He too ignored the warning and became unconscious. Then Arjuna came in search of his brothers. He reached the pool and was very angry to see the state of his brother. He too ignored the warning so fainted.
When Arjuna did not return Yudhisthira sent Bhima, who met with the same fate. Yudhisthira was getting worried, so went himself to look for his brothers. When he reached the pool he was very sad to see his brothers lying unconscious. He also tried to take some water from the pool and heard the same voice.
Please ask me the questions. I will try to answer them. In the end voice said I am very pleased with your wisdom. I will bring any one of your brother back to his senses you can choose one of your brother. Yudhisthira said we are sons of two mother Kundi and Madri. Hearing this reply the voice said you have again pleased me with your impartial judgement. Suddenly, Yama the God of death appeared and brought all the four Pandavas back to their senses.
During exile, one day. Once a day, she can take out as much food as she wants until she herself has eaten. Till then, this bowl will not run empty. One day, sage Durvasa and his disciples were passing through the forest. Draupadi had already eaten and she knew that the bowl would not yield any more food. Krishna was satisfied and surprisingly. They left without asking for food. Shri Krishna, among the hindu gods of mythology, have helped pandavas in every enterprise. While,Arjuna was gone on his quest for weapons.
The others embarked on a pilgrimage to Himalayas visiting en route the various ashrams. And when they neared the attractive Narayanasrama forest,Draupadi was mesmerized by the smell of the Saugandhika plant and requested Bhima to bring some of its flowers.
While in search of these flowers,Bhima was tested and then blessed by his half-brother Hanuman, the monkey-god of strength. Virata was the King of Matsya. The following are the Pandavas listed along-side their new roles in the court of Virata. Although Bhima had to kill Kichaka, the general of Virata, for making sexual advances towards Draupadi, the Pandavas spent much of the last year uneventfully and unrecognised by anyone. As he had hoped,Arjuna, awkwardly dressed as an eunuch, confronted them on the battlefield and defeated them easily.
